How much DA increase at 63%?
Dearness Allowance is a percentage of your basic pay. If DA rises from 60% to 63%, that is a 3 percentage-point increase on your basic — so an employee on ₹35,400 basic would get about ₹1,062 more per month, and the same rise applies as Dearness Relief for pensioners. Because the July revision is usually announced only in September or October, employees typically receive a few months of arrears in the announcement month.

Will pensioners also get this hike?
Yes. Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners and family pensioners is always revised by the same percentage as DA. If DA rises to 63%, DR also rises to 63% from the same date.

Is this the same as the 8th Pay Commission hike?
