How pension revision works
On past pay commissions, pension was revised by notionally applying the fitment factor to the existing basic pension (with parity provisions for older retirees). Dearness Relief (DR), which mirrors DA, resets and restarts on the revised pension. Pensioners who retire on or before 31 December 2025 are covered under the revised pension exercise per the approved Terms of Reference.
Gratuity note
The retirement gratuity ceiling is currently ₹25 lakh. Pay commissions have historically revised this ceiling upward; watch the final report for changes.
