Frequently asked questions
Why does my level page show a different in-hand figure?
Level pages add DA, HRA, transport allowance and standard deductions to entry pay. This matrix shows basic pay only.
Will levels be merged in the 8th CPC?
Merging of some lower levels has been publicly discussed as a possibility, but nothing is decided. Any restructuring will appear in the report.
What is a pay matrix cell?
Each level is a column and each yearly increment moves you one cell down at 3% — your basic pay is always some cell in your level's column. This page shows only cell 1 (entry pay) of each level.
Will the number of levels change in the 8th CPC?
Possible — merging some lower levels has been publicly suggested, but nothing is decided. Any restructuring will be in the report and we will update this page the same week.
